A new DC Universe concept trailer imagines major Hollywood stars from the 1990s as the heroes of the Justice League, showing a different line-up.
A 1990s-heavy Justice League movie cast comes to life in a new DC concept trailer, showing who could have potentially starred in a team-up film back then. After a rocky run for a decade, the DCEU movie timeline was brought to an end in 2023, concluding Warner Bros. Discovery’s first proper attempt at a cinematic universe for their DC characters. However, with DC Studios, Warner Bros. Discovery is getting a fresh start as James Gunn and Peter Safran are developing the new DC Universe, set to consist of many Justice League characters.
While Safran and Gunn’s DC Universe is in the works, a new DC concept trailer by Stryder HD imagines what a Justice League movie could have looked like if it had happened in the 1990s. Even though a DC cinematic universe was never properly in development back then, their video does hit some stars from the 90s who likely would have been considered for some of those iconic DC roles.
One of the highlights of the Justice League fan video is pitching Cage as Superman, as he was initially going to star in Superman Lives for Tim Burton before the project got scrapped, only to then get a cameo in The Flash movie in 2023. The video features the following stars as they were imagined to play these DC heroes, villains, and supporting characters:

What Is Next For The Justice League In Film & TV?
With multiple DC Universe movies and TV shows in the works, a handful of Justice League characters are confirmed to be on their way to the big and small screens. The first DC Universe movie will be Gunn’s Superman, featuring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel. Corenswet’s Superman movie will also include Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, Mister Terrific, and Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, who are canonical Justice League members. Even though they will be serving in supporting roles, they will be there to help establish this DC Universe already having active superheroes in the world.
A new Batman reboot is also being worked at, as DC Studios is developing The Brave and The Bold movie, focusing on Bruce Wayne tackling fatherhood in a new way as he discovers the existence of Damian Wayne, his biological son. Another Justice League hero who will headline their own film is Kara Zor-El, featuring Milly Alcock as the new Girl of Steel in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. As of right now, DC Studios hasn’t announced a Justice League team-up movie yet.
On the small screen, two prominent Justice League members who will be headlining their own series are Hal and John in the Lanterns TV show for Max. Despite being a prequel, Paradise Lost will be a new introduction to Wonder Woman’s mythology before Diana Prince was born in the DC Universe. Hopefully, with more projects being kept under wraps for Chapter 1, “Gods and Monsters,” more Justice League heroes will be revealed for the DC Universe sooner rather than later.
